The latest roadblock was my craft office. In trying to expand my spirit wear line, I simply did not have the space in the craft office/my oldest son's room to contain everything. My plan was to make oldest son go through his stuff and get it boxed up while he was home over the holidays. Then, to move his three pieces of furniture and his boxed stuff into the middle son's room. In the meantime, I'd been reading and researching 2017 apparel trends and I had some fantastic ideas that I am sure all the mamas are ready for (and a new tagline - How does Boutique Spirit Wear and Custom Homecoming Mums sound?) Plus, my stamp and the laundry pens came in for labeling infant and children's spirit wear and it was just time to get busy. But mentally, I couldn't do anything until that room situation got sorted out.
This is a photo from when I first moved my craft office into this room. |
They left on Jan 8. And as soon as the door shut, I was cleaning and moving furniture.
Middle son's room with both beds and boxed stuff. Yes, those are holes in the door. I'll give you three guesses as to how they got there. |

At the end of the day, I was fairly pleased.
So, I searched Ikea because I am addicted to Ikea furniture. Then, I searched Craigslist for the specific desk that I decided on. Because I am also frugal. And since I didn't find the Micke desk with hutch attachment on Craigslist, I went to Ikea after work on Monday.
That little desk was a LOT heavier than it looked. It was quite comical to watch me wrestle it off the shelf and into the VW and up my front steps. I put it together Monday night.
And on Tuesday night, I filled up the desk with desk stuff (I may also have purchased some office supplies because you can't christen a new desk with old office supplies) and I sat down and three of the ideas just popped out of my head and found their way onto shirts! They will be photographed in the new product photography studio (aka middle son's room) today and posted on Etsy and my website shop!
