You Are Never Too Old
One of my goals for this blog is to be an inspiration to moms. I don't know if your dream is to own a business, or to go back to school, or to drive a race car. But I do know that if I, a normally fearful, hesitant person, can do it then you can too.
I chose this quote today, because it is my birthday month. I am turning 47 this year. I remember my grandmother, who worked as a "lunch lady," worked toward an accounting degree in her 50's and eventually retired from that same school district as an administrator. Currently, my dream is to be making enough money in this small business to quit my day job.
I believe that a key to our success as homeschoolers was the investment that I made in educating myself. I learned about learning styles and teaching. I educated myself on the different options and every year I examined our goals and what we needed to climb the next step. That is what I am doing with this business. I am part of a mentor group where I am learning about selling online. I spend Sundays researching business practices as well as trends in my market and the rest of the week, I work on implementing the things that I learn, step by step.
I don't need to know what your dream is, but I do wonder, what prevents you from taking a step towards it? Maybe you have already started to work toward your dream. What was the first step that you took?
