I have been super busy both with life and CTSW. We have a senior in high school and all that that entails. Frankly, I suck at multi tasking.
But I have been very busy doing a lot of behind the scenes work at CTSW to get things ready for Fall Sports. I chose some shirts...
I am going to try something new, screen print transfers for a couple of the styles. I wanted something retro-y and distressed and that is just not going to happen in vinyl.
I learned a new thing! I am so excited because it means that I don't have to order 43 shirts to make multiple design samples. Check it out. Stock picture from the shirt vendor with the shirt design layered over the top. It looks real doesn't it?!
Also, note the space between the pieces. While layering vinyl is perfectly fine, it tends to make the design heavy and hot. I learned to offset and subtract. I love the effect, I think it makes the words pop.
If you haven't been to look at the website, go do so. I have been rewriting copy. I also redid some pictures. Supposedly, and I am totally willing to try it, Google doesn't love pictures with watermarks. So I took them all off. Honestly, I think it makes for a cleaner looking picture and does not distract from the product.
I have been banging my head up against a wall on my days off working on getting the shipping business right on the website. It is a huge PITA and if I had not just spent hundreds of dollars on mum flowers, I might pay someone to do it.
That is the other thing I have been doing, shopping for mum supplies and premaking braids and other mum elements. I took a day to make this for a very special lady that I work with at the store. She has been telling me she wanted a mum for a year. I made one for her birthday. It came out beautifully and she loved it!
The main vendor for mum supplies FINALLY added trinkets for track and drama! Whoop! I have ordered ribbon and flowers, I think the next mum group buy is boas. This year, I am adding color tipped boas to what I carry.
If you get a chance, go take a look at the website. Let me know what you think. Don't get attached to the new banner there. I did pay a professional to make me a new logo and will be changing that next week, or so... But take a look at the copy. I am trying to convey conversation without being too wordy. I AM my target market, so I am writing things that I hope appeal to a mom, like me.
